Today I am delighted to join the blog tour for Beach House Summer by Sarah Morgan

My Review

I have loved Sarah Morgan books for many years and this story took us on a wonderful journey as life changes for Joanna for a final time as she welcomes Ashley into her life.

A story rich in love and loyalty as we get to know Joanna as an angst teenager, who makes a snap decision that influences the next 2 decades of her life.

As she decides to return home to Silver Point she needs to decide if this is a flying visit or something more permanent. A wonderful story, with lovely characters and friendships that help reconnect Joanna to her past and help to carve a new path for both herself and Ashley.

A story and characters that I’ve absolutely loved and am disappointed to have reached the end of.

Book Blurb

A marriage in the spotlight
Joanna Whitman’s high-profile marriage held more secrets than she cares to remember, so when her ex-husband dies, she doesn’t know what to feel. But when she discovers that he’s left behind a pregnant young woman, Joanna is forced to act. She knows exactly how brutal the spotlight on them both will be…unless she can find a way for them to disappear.

A beach house hideaway
Ashley Blake is amazed when Joanna suggests they lie low at her beach house in her sleepy Californian hometown. Joanna should be hating her, not helping her. But alone and pregnant, Ashley needs all the support she can find.

A summer of new beginnings
Joanna’s only goal for the summer is privacy. All Ashley wants is space to plan for her and her baby’s future. But when an old flame reappears, and secrets spill out under the hot summer sun, this unlikely friendship is put to the test…

Today I am delighted to be joining the blog tour for the new release – A Ration Book Victory by Jean Fullerton

My Review

I have loved reading about the Brogan family and this visit was no exception, throughout this saga we have learnt snippets about the matriarch of the family Queenie and we get to learn more about her life before she came to London as she has to decide whether to tell her family something that could change them forever.

As the end of the war approaches we spend time with all of the Brogan children and get to see how their lives have changed throughout the course of the war, we see their joys and challenges as they prepare for life post war.

I absolutely love historical fiction and saga’s based in London during WWII are my absolute favourite. The Brogan family have felt like family and I have loved getting to know these wonderful characters and will miss them as we conclude the final book in the series.

Book Blurb

Jean Fullerton, the RNA-shortlisted queen of the East End, returns with the final nostalgic and heart-warming story of the Brogan family.
_____

In the final days of war, only love will pull her through . . .

Queenie Brogan wasn’t always an East End matriarch. Many years ago, before she married Fergus, she was Philomena Dooley, a daughter of Irish Travellers, planning to wed her childhood sweetheart, Patrick Mahone. But when tragedy struck and Patrick’s narrow-minded sister, Nora, intervened, the lovers were torn apart.

Fate can be cruel, and when Queenie arrives in London she finds that Patrick Mahon is her parish priest, and that the love she had tried to suppress flares again in her heart.

But now in the final months of WW2, Queenie discovers Father Mahon is dying and must face losing him forever. Can she finally tell him the secret she has kept for over fifty years or will Nora once again come between them?

And if Queenie does decide to finally tell Patrick, could the truth destroy the Brogan family?

My Review

I have loved reading this series and jumped at the chance to read the latest addition to this saga.

It was lovely to spend time back in the Harpers store with all of the lovely girls who have progressed since the first book into women with lives and children of their own.

A story set in war torn London that see’s us reconnect with the original girls of Harpers and where they are now at in life as the end looks like it is finally insight for the war. This story is full of sensitivity for what was lost and compassion for the families and how they would now try to get their lives back on track and attempt to piece everything back together.

A superb story that I loved from an author whose historical fiction saga’s I just love to read.

Book Blurb

Can the Harpers Girls look forward to some happy times as a new dawn rises over London?

Sally Harper is busy juggling running London’s Oxford Street Store Harpers and looking after her beautiful new-born daughter, whilst husband Ben is overseas on another dangerous mission, this time to rescue a friend in need.

Marion Jackson is blessed with a son as she eagerly awaits the return of her husband Reggie. But all is not right when Reggie returns. Is Marion strong enough to save her family from yet another crisis?
