Happy Publication Day to one of my favourite authors T.A Williams who today releases – An Escape to Remember

My Review

Another superb read by the wonderfully talented T.A Williams, I am a massive fan of his books and always jump at the chance to read his new release.

Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Italy, this story is rich in both landscape and romance. We meet Louise as she discovers her love life isn’t at all where she thought it was and accepts a new assignment in Italy renovating a gorgeous old hotel.

Louise is a wonderful leading lady who is full of warmth and compassion and not what you would have expected for someone completing the job she had been sent to the hotel to complete. She was far from the stereotypical trouble shooter and a pleasure to get to know during this story.

Brimming with wonderful views, sunny walks and unrequited love, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the atmosphere that is created within the story. As always it’s a pleasure to visit a gorgeous location and read all of the wonderful descriptions that make you feel like you are right there alongside them. I can’t wait to recommend this one as it’s the perfect way to kick off the warmer weather.

Book Blurb

She needed a getaway. What she found was a home.

When Louise surprises her boyfriend by returning early from a work trip, safe to say she wasn’t expecting to see him in flagrante delicto with another woman. Heart-torn and vowing to stay away from men, when Louise’s next project involves restoring an ageing hotel in Italy, she leaps at the chance to get away.

Managed by a crew of sextagenarians, the Grand Hotel del Monferrato needs all the love and care Louise can give it. But it’s hard to stay focused on the job when her thoughts keep straying to Vito, the reclusive and mysterious neighbour.

With his tragic past and her no-romance policy, Louise knows they can’t have a future. Yet something keeps pulling the two together…

A beautiful romance set in the hills of Turin

Meet the Author

I’m a man. And a pretty old man as well. I did languages at university a long time ago and then lived and worked in France and Switzerland before going to Italy for seven years as a teacher of English. My Italian wife and I then came back to the UK with our little daughter (now long-since grown up) where I ran a big English language school for many years. We now live in a sleepy little village in Devonshire. I’ve been writing almost all my life but it was only seven years ago that I finally managed to find a publisher who liked my work enough to offer me my first contract.

The fact that I am now writing escapist romance is something I still find hard to explain. My early books were thrillers and historical novels. Maybe it’s because there are so many horrible things happening in the world today that I feel I need to do my best to provide something to cheer my readers up. My books provide escapism to some gorgeous locations, even if travel to them is currently difficult.

Today I have the pleasure of helping kick off the blog tour for Love Blooms at Mermaids Point by Sarah Bennett

My Review

Today I am so excited to be helping kick off the latest blog tour for the wonderful Sarah Bennett, I have struggled with my reading mojo recently so it is always a pleasure to pick up a book that you know will instantly capture you. As we return to Mermaids Point we pick up where we left off with Alex looking to purchase the old bookshop that Ivy had got her eye on.

A story tinged with sadness throughout as Ivy losses her Mum and her whole world implodes around her, yet the community pull together to try and offer her the space and support she needs to grieve and find her way forward.

It was great to get to know Alex and keep learning about what makes him tick whilst spending much more time with Ivy as she tries to find out her new direction. A story that will capture your heart straight away and leave you keen to keep reading. I just love it when a book calls your name everytime you sit down and this book kept just dragging me back to it.

I loved my latest visit to Mermaids Point, this seaside destination reminds me a lot of the village that I grew up as it only ever came to life in the summer months. A wonderful destination, with descriptions that jump off of the page and a superb host of characters that I have totally fallen in love with.

Book Blurb

Bestselling author Alex Nelson is slowly coming apart at the seams after a failed marriage and an abrupt change in career leave him at a crossroads in life. When an unexpected opportunity arises to escape to the idyllic village of Mermaids Point, he’s hot on the heels of his brother, Tom, who has recently moved there. Buying a rundown bookshop might be just his latest harebrained scheme, but Alex has never been one to do things by halves.

After spending her early years caring for her mother, Ivy Fisher is finally ready to start living her own life. But when the impossibly charming, impossibly good-looking Alex Nelson swoops in and snatches her dream out from under her nose, it really is the last straw. Forced by circumstances to spend more time with him, Ivy finally gets a peak of the real man beneath the confident exterior, and she likes what she sees.

But just when things are starting to come together for them, Ivy is reminded why men can never be trusted. Is Alex who he says he is, or is he using Mermaids Point as nothing more than research fodder for his next bestseller?

Happy Publication Day to the wonderful Katie Ginger who today releases The Little Library on Cherry Lane

My Review

Today I am super excited to be helping celebrate the release of The Little Library on Cherry Lane, a delightful story full of charm and wonderful characters.

Katie has a way of capturing the whole essence of a person when she writes so not only does she describe the location in such a visual way that the story plays out in front of your eyes she also does this with her characters. Elsie loves the library and always has found it a place that calms and soothes her soul, so when she finds out about the plans for her beloved refuge the normally quiet Elsie develops a who new persona.

When I picked up this book, I knew I needed to get comfy as I straight away was transported to Cherry Lane with it’s cute library which is a real central point for the whole village with wonderful connections to all of the other small businesses surrounding it. I loved the friendship between Elsie and Gemma and how the relationship between them was described and drawn upon throughout the story.

I really don’t want to give too much away, but I loved this book and wanted to just keep reading as I love books with a wonderful array of characters and not only did it have this in buckets but it was set in an idyllic village as well. As always a wonderful story full of love, loyalty and compassion, that i truly loved beginning to end.

Book Blurb

Elsie Martin may lead a quiet life, but working in her beloved local library is enough to make her happy. After all, books have always been her armour against the world. So when the library is threatened with closure to make way for a new housing development, Elsie knows it has to be saved – and that, despite being painfully shy, she needs to lead the campaign to save it.

Jacob Yardley thinks he’s doing the right thing by building a new affordable housing development. Why shouldn’t local people be able to buy a house in the place they grew up? Having to leave his own small hometown broke his heart. Plus, people don’t really use libraries anymore, do they?

As Elsie and Jacob clash over the future of the library, sparks begin to fly. Jacob is falling back in love with books and libraries – could he possibly be falling for her too? And will Elsie be able to save the library that means so much to her?

Today I am super excited to be joining the blog tour for One Greek Summer by Kate Frost

My Review

I absolutely LOVED this one! I’ve been after a 5* read for a while and this one transported me to the gorgeous Greek island of Skopelos and totally stole my heart.

From the first few pages I loved Harlow and as the story built I just relished in getting to know her and her strained relationship with both her Mother and Tyler that constantly left her under a cloud of doubt and justification.

This story really drilled down into the complex relationship between Harlow and her Mother and I think a lot of women will be able to relate to this dynamic from growing up.

As I raced through this book, I knew I didn’t want to reach the end as I had loved everything about this book from the olive groves and secluded beaches to the wonderful array of food that was showcased throughout.

A superb book that I already can’t wait to recommend to friends and family, so grab your copy today!

Book Blurb

Today I am excited to share my review for Villa of Second Chance by Jennifer Bohnet

My Review

I loved the opportunity to visit this lovely selection of characters, with the story set against the gorgeous backdrop of the French Riviera. We meet Rebecca & Delphine head towards a change in their paths after Delphine was suddenly widowed, whilst they are also preparing for the second wedding for Freya and Marcus.

I am a massive fan of books by this wonderful author as they are always set in a warm and sunny location and always contain that wonderful feel good factor to make you smile even on the most miserable days. The villa that they have hired for the wedding sounds amazing and as soon as the words swimming pool were uttered, I could just imagine cocktails around the pool.

This story is about second chance for everyone whether that be in love or just reconnecting family ties, I love the insight we gain into each personal story as we spend time with everyone. A truly gorgeous story based around the wonderful love story of Freya and Marcus, another highly recommended read.
