Today I am delighted to be joining the blog tour for A Sunrise Over Bali by Sandy Barker

My Review

Today I am delighted to be sharing my review for this wonderful read set in the gorgeous Bali. I love how reading books by Sandy Barker enables us to travel to such wonderful locations, this is an element that she brings to all of her books and that I love.

After the past couple of years we all need some escapism and this book is literally that on prescription. The location is gorgeous and I loved getting to know the wonderful characters and learning more about their stories especially Jaelee starts to reassess her life. I have heard of retreats for digital nomads and loved the idea of Urop and spending time there with the ability to work but also relax and take in a new culture and experiences.

As always Sandy brings her extensive travel knowledge to the table and offers the most wonderful descriptions and insights to make us feel like we are there right alongside Jaelee. A truly wonderful story and it was a pleasure to read and review.

Book Blurb

When Jaelee Tan leaves her high-flying PR job in Miami for a sabbatical in Bali, the last thing she expects is for it to become permanent. But when her boss demands the trip be cut short, Jae does the only thing she can think of and quits on the spot.

With two months in Bali, a new group of friends and the gorgeous scenery and beaches, Jae is determined to make the most of her new-found freedom. And when she locks eyes with hunky Scot, Alistair, Jae wonders if she’ll lose her heart to more than just a Balinese sunrise.

Escape to Bali in this uplifting novel full of friendship, laughter and romance, perfect for fans of Mandy Baggot, Julie Caplin and Holly Martin.

Today let me brighten your wet and miserable Sunday with my review for Under One Roof by Samantha Tonge

My Review

I am a massive fan of Samantha Tonge and was delighted to receive an invite to join her latest blog tour. In Under One Roof we meet Robin as she goes to stay with her estranged Mum.

I was instantly captured by the strained relationship between Robin & Faye and how they clashed over everything. As we got to know the pair we learnt about Robin and the difficulties experienced in her teenage years especially following the loss of her Dad and how her relationship with her Mum just seemed to spiral, until she finally ran away.

When Robin discovered the 30 year old treasure hunt, that her Dad had left behind she is keen to do it but meets opposition from her Mum, until her own daughter Amber comes for a visit and she see’s her Mum start to thaw a little.

A story full of unique relationship dynamics where they travel a rollercoaster of emotions as they try to forge relationships with each other, whilst finding a way to exist as a family and help each other solve the final clues for their last ever treasure hunt.

Book Blurb

One forgotten discovery will change three women’s lives for ever…

Robin hasn’t been home for decades. After running away to London, she never expected to see her cantankerous mother, Faye, again. But when Faye has a fall, the two women are thrown together once more.

The years apart have not made their hearts grow fonder and the ground between them is unsteady. Then Robin finds an unopened scroll – the last of the treasure hunts her much-missed father used to take them on every Sunday. A hunt he believed might change everything.

Yet, not even this gift from her beloved father can smooth the way until Robin’s daughter, Amber, arrives to meet her grandmother for the first time.  Amber is determined that the decades-old mystery be solved.

Can a 30-year-old treasure hunt really ‘change everything’?

Today I am jumping on the blog tour for The Wedding Dress by Dani Atkins

My Review

The Wedding Dress is a story of three parts with the wedding dress being the linking theme throughout the three stories. In each story we meet the three very different ladies in varying scenarios and get know them and their relationships during the course of their story.

I found Bella’s story the one that held my attention from the get go as it was so dramatic. Although as a roller coaster lover I’m not sure that I enjoyed the actual horror of the story but I loved the friendship she formed with Will during his horrifying time and seeing how this changed over time. I am a sucker for a love story and overcoming obstacles so this instantly captured my heart as it was so extreme.

Book Blurb

From bestselling author Dani Atkins, a new collection of three irresistible love stories, all linked by one very special dress.

Suzanne is engaged to be married to the man of her dreams – except the lead up to her wedding is beginning to feel more like a nightmare. Can Suzanne uncover the truth about her fiancé ahead of her big day?

Bella’s life was on track until the day of the hen party when everything changed. Now she must find the strength to rebuild her future – and decide who she wants to spend it with.

Mandy’s grandmother has fallen in love but her family don’t approve. For her grandmother’s dreams to come true, Mandy has a secret wedding to plan, and a very special dress to find.

These are the three strangers whose stories are about to be woven together by one perfect wedding dress.

Today I am so excited to be sharing my review for the 5* delight – Love Lessons in Starcross Valley by Lucy Knott

My Review

Oh what a story, the minute I met Marnie I knew I would love her as this wonderful love story takes you from Canada to Orion her hometown. This book is an absolute beauty and I loved it from beginning to end.

Whilst reading this book I felt that we were literally getting to know Marnie as she made life changing decisions and we got to know her tiny personality quirks, her character was the real deal and I loved her story.

I loved that the story was written about twins as the main characters knowing that the author is a twin, it covered off frustrations and also the unwaivering love and support you always receive. With dinosaur facts scattered throughout and a love of the solar system, this story sucked me straight into Marnie’s world and had me reading late into the night and early morning snuggled up with my coffee.

I could easily have kept reading about these amazing characters and was left with a book hangover to realise I had reached the end far too quickly. I say this every time but I think Lucy did truly surpass herself this time with this little beauty.

Book Blurb

With the recent breakdown of both her ten-year relationship and her parents’ marriage, thirty-five-year-old Marnie Barnes no longer believes in love. To give her life the shake-up it so clearly needs, she books a ticket to Canada.

Thousands of miles away from her home and her twin sister, she struggles to have the life-changing experience she dreamt of – until she meets Nova, a dinosaur-loving space nerd with a penchant for living in the moment. After a wonderful day together in Vancouver, they part ways. Though gutted, Marnie thinks it’s proof that she’s not meant to find love and tries to move on with her life.

But a few months later, back in England, she bumps into someone achingly familiar. As Marnie navigates her new feelings, takes chances and makes the first move for the first time in her life, can she regain her faith in love – and find it for herself?

Meet the Author

Lucy Knott lives in Manchester England, just around the corner from her childhood home and less than five minutes from her twin sister Kelly and brother in law Chris. She loves spending time with her family in addition to writing, reading and cooking Italian food. When not buried in a book, scribbling in a notebook or having dance parties for one to Harry Styles, she works as a teaching assistant where the majority of her days are spent talking about dinosaurs and making Godzilla out of just about everything, from Blu Tac to cardboard boxes, and she loves every minute.

If she could up and move to the stunning Amalfi Coast, San Francisco or live in a cabin surrounded by fairy lights, she would, but for now she’s quite content writing about those magical places. Lucy loves to write uplifting stories that she hopes will put a smile on your face, fill your heart with joy, encourage you to embrace the awesomeness that you are and believe that any dream is possible.
