Today I am delighted to be sharing my review for the wonderfully festive – The Christmas Escape by Sarah Morgan

My Review

It is never Christmas until I’ve read Sarah Morgan’s Christmas release and this year she has whisked us off to Lapland with Christy, Seb and her family for a magical snowy Christmas and to reconnect with family.

I absolutely loved this story, it was full of fun and establishing new traditions. When I started reading this story, it quickly provides a fractured relationship and you start to think that maybe this isn’t going to be the fairytale you envisage when you think of a feel good festive read. However the more I kept turning the pages the more I connected with the characters and could see lots of fractures with the potential to heal during this story.

Set against the gorgeous snowy backdrop of the Northern Lights this story is full of vivid descriptions and warming hot chocolate to help keep the body and soul warm. A wonderful story with wonderful characters that I was sad to reach the end of.

Book Blurb

It was supposed to be Christy Sullivan’s perfect Christmas escape – a dream trip to Lapland with her family and best friend, Alix. But facing a make-or-break marriage crisis, Christy desperately needs time alone with her husband, Seb. Her solution? Alix, along with Seb’s oldest friend, Zac, can take Christy’s daughter on the planned Lapland trip, and they will all reunite there for Christmas Day. After all, what are friends for?

There’s nothing Alix won’t do for Christy, but Christy’s plan to save Christmas is testing their friendship. Especially as Alix and Zac have a difficult history of their own.

As long-held secrets unravel, and unexpected romance shines under the Northern Lights, can Christy and Alix find the courage to fight for the relationships they really want? And could this Christmas escape save the precious gift of each other’s friendship?

Curl up on this damp and chilly Sunday and grab a copy of the festive delight – The Post Box at the North Pole by Jaimie Admans

My Review

When you pick up this book be prepared to be swept away in pure Christmas magic. I absolutely love books by Jaimie Admans and her Christmas book is always special and this year it is even more festive and magical than last year.

When Sash arrives to visit her poorly Dad she has no clue she is walking into a real winter wonderland complete with reindeer, Santa’s workshop and a mysterious elf. From Sasha’s arrival you are just swept along under the gorgeous glow of the Northern Lights as against the odds she starts to feel the magic of where her Dad has chosen to settle.

A story rich in fantastic characters with the themes of candy canes, nutcrackers and steaming hot chocolate just as you would expect to find in a festive read by Jaimie Admans. Without a doubt one of my favourite reads by this author, it just sweeps you along in the magic of Christmas and leaves you with a gigantic gap as if you’ve lost a friend when you reach the end.

Dear Santa,

I wish I could believe in magic again.

From, Sasha.

Sasha Hansley hates Christmas. As a child, it was her favourite time of year, but ever since the tragic death of her mother, it has completely lost its magic.

But when she gets an unexpected phone call from her estranged father, she’s forced to dust off her snow boots.

He’s been running a Lapland style Christmas village in Norway and after suffering a heart attack, he is on strict doctor’s orders to slow down. Eager to reconnect with her dad, Sasha books the next flight out there. Only she’s never actually been on a plane before, let alone to the Arctic Circle.

Met at the runway by drop-dead-gorgeous Taavi Salvesen, they sleigh ride through the snow with the Northern Lights guiding their way.

When Sasha uncovers sacks of unopened Santa mail – letters that children and adults from all over the world write to Santa every year – she realises that she can send a little bit of magic out into the world by replying to some of them.

With Taavi on hand to help, will Sasha rediscover her own excitement for Christmas and find love among the letters?

Meet the Author

Jaimie is a 36-year-old English-sounding Welsh girl with an awkward-to-spell name. She lives in South Wales and enjoys writing, gardening, watching horror movies, and drinking tea, although she’s seriously considering marrying her coffee machine. She loves autumn and winter, and singing songs from musicals despite the fact she’s got the voice of a dying hyena. She hates spiders, hot weather, and cheese & onion crisps. She spends far too much time on Twitter and owns too many pairs of boots.
She will never have time to read all the books she wants to read.

She is the author of several romantic comedies for HarperCollins – The Chateau of Happily Ever Afters, The Little Wedding Island, It’s a Wonderful Night, The Little Vintage Carousel by the Sea, Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm, The Little Bookshop of Love Stories, The Wishing Tree Beside the Shore, The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane, and The Post Box at the North Pole.
