My Review
I have been reading books by the wonderful Zara Stoneley since before I was a book blogger and as always I jumped at the chance to read the latest release and see what wonderful characters she had created this time.
I really enjoyed getting to meet Alice, Jamie and the array of wonderful characters in this story as they return to work post covid. I have been really wary about reading books with covid mentioned, however it was only mentioned at the offset and didn’t really feature in the story again.
Alice finds that upon her return to work, after struggling to work from home in her house share that she is returning to a very different environment to the one she left as they embark on a world of desk sharing and communicating with colleagues through post it notes.
Alice was a character who always put others first and would do anything for a quiet life, this is true both within the workplace and within her boisterous family. When she bumps into Jamie at work, she doesn’t mention that she thinks he was her drunken snog at a festival, so when he becomes her new desk buddy she doesn’t know whether to mention it or just carry on as if nothing has happened.
As this story gained momentum I wanted to keep reading to find out if they would become friends and if Alice would divulge who she was. I love post it notes and loved the idea behind this story and enjoyed my front row seat as I watched it unfold. Once again Zara Stoneley has written a thoroughly entertaining light hearted read, that made me giggle throughout.
