I always look forward to picking up one of Jennifer Bohnet’s new books as she has quickly become a firm favourite when looking for a story I can lose myself in. I loved getting to go back to Brittany with her and catching up with a few characters from previous books who also made a cameo.
A story that grabs your attention and doesn’t let it go until the last page. Pixie is a wonderful character full of warmth who is still struggling to adjust to life without her husband. Her recent loss has created a writer’s block and when she realises that the dream home they bought in Brittany was sitting empty she convinces her Mum to take a trip with her to pay it one last visit. On arrival she never anticipates what will come next and now needs to unravel the mystery her husband left behind.
A story brimming with family love with a touch of romance sprinkled on top and packed with characters that are a wonderful blend of personalities and easy to connect with. Set in a gorgeous area of France, the chateau is vividly described and easy to fall in love with.
