Today I am delighted to be sharing a review for an author whose books I love to dive into – Staying Out for the Summer by Mandy Baggot.
My Review
I love reading books by Mandy Baggot and I jumped at the chance to read her new release and immerse myself in some Greek sunshine.
This is the first book I have read that references Covid with references and flashbacks throughout I was slightly wary as reading light hearted reads has been my escape over the past year. However once I was a couple of chapters in I just knew I was going to love this book and the subject is mentioned with care and attention at all times.
Lucie & Gavin are both nurses who have worked under tremendous pressure for the past year and have decided that an escape to somewhere hot is just the tonic now that lockdown is over. They quickly get to know some locals when they arrive in the village and embark on an adventure that isn’t quite what they had planned.
I went to Corfu years ago and loved the opportunity to explore local food and traditions through Lucie & Gavin’s adventure. A wonderfully light hearted read that will make you laugh with the stories and mischief they get upto. This was a story that was packed with love and loyalty and really focused on the importance of family.
