Who fancies a trip to Greece? Today I am sharing my review for Staying Out for the Summer by Mandy Baggot

Today I am delighted to be sharing a review for an author whose books I love to dive into – Staying Out for the Summer by Mandy Baggot.

My Review

I love reading books by Mandy Baggot and I jumped at the chance to read her new release and immerse myself in some Greek sunshine.

This is the first book I have read that references Covid with references and flashbacks throughout I was slightly wary as reading light hearted reads has been my escape over the past year. However once I was a couple of chapters in I just knew I was going to love this book and the subject is mentioned with care and attention at all times.

Lucie & Gavin are both nurses who have worked under tremendous pressure for the past year and have decided that an escape to somewhere hot is just the tonic now that lockdown is over. They quickly get to know some locals when they arrive in the village and embark on an adventure that isn’t quite what they had planned.

I went to Corfu years ago and loved the opportunity to explore local food and traditions through Lucie & Gavin’s adventure. A wonderfully light hearted read that will make you laugh with the stories and mischief they get upto. This was a story that was packed with love and loyalty and really focused on the importance of family.

Book Blurb

After a summer of staying in, it’s time to let your hair down and escape to Greece!

For Lucie Burrows, it’s time to embrace Greek life and put the past behind her! Having spent the summer of 2020 battling a global health crisis, Lucie Burrows is looking forward to a summer out of lockdown.

When best friend, Gavin, finds them the perfect Greek escape Lucie finally starts to think this summer might just go without a hitch. But after a landslide puts the village into a local lockdown, Lucie is thrown together with Michalis Andino, the super sexy village doctor. It’s not quite the holiday she had planned, but things could certainly be worse.

As Lucie relaxes into the Greek way of life, she begins to wonder whether this lockdown might just end in a new life, a new love…

Daisy, Jacks & Kel x

I am a total bookworm who loves nothing more than to lose herself in a book. My pile of books to read is teetering higher and higher as there are not enough hours in the day compared to how many old and new amazing books there are out there to read. I love to read in my spare time and books are a massive part of our household. I feel really lucky that Daisy also loves losing herself in the amazing worlds the authors are creating for us and neither of us ever go very far without having a book to hand as you never know when an opportunity to read may present itself.
