I love kicking off the week with a feel good read, today I am sharing my review for Summer in Andalucia by Lucy Coleman

Today I am delighted to be sharing my review for Summer in Andalucia by Lucy Coleman, I love reading books by this author and was really excited to jump on the blog tour.

My Review

I always love picking up a book by Lucy Coleman, she is on my list of go to authors who I know will make me smile with the wonderful locations that she transports me too. In this story we visit Andalucia and get to spend time in a lovely sunny location whilst she is writing her magazine feature.

A story rich in history and the perfect read for a foodie, there are so many amazing descriptions of dishes and I love how she incorporates food and homegrown product into her stories. I love to grow food in the garden and this story really inspired me to get back into the garden and plant seeds ready for this summer.

Lainey was a lovely character and she spends her life surrounded by food and sharing this with the magazine readers. I enjoyed following her story and learning about how her and her family had been through tough times in the years leading up to present day. This is a story that has a real feel good factor as you can’t help but smile when reading about wonderful food and Lainey was an easy character to relate too.

I found this book easy to fly through as I was intrigued by the growing friendship with Rick and how her 4 weeks in Andalucia would influence her career. The perfect anecdote when you fancy a light hearted read it left me feeling hopeful, warm and fuzzy.

Lainey Summers feels blessed to have her dream job writing for a renowned foodie magazine. And the day she goes to interview chef Rick Oliver at his new restaurant—Aleatory—in London’s popular Piccadilly, is the start of an unexpected journey.

When Rick is offered the opportunity to jet off to a monastery in Andalucía, to film a cookery competition for Spanish TV, Lainey goes too, to cover the story.

Spending a month filming in the stunning Spanish countryside, soaking up the sights, sounds, smells and of course the cuisine, Lainey and Rick start to enjoy each other’s company. But their time together flies by too quickly, and before they know it, Rick and Lainey have to face going their separate ways.

With both their worlds shifting beneath them, the call of Andalucia and the call of happiness grows ever stronger. But with everything at stake, will they be able to take the chance of a happy-ever-after…

Let Lucy Coleman whisk you off on a sun-baked, life-affirming, total escape to beautiful Andalucia.

I am a total bookworm who loves nothing more than to lose herself in a book. My pile of books to read is teetering higher and higher as there are not enough hours in the day compared to how many old and new amazing books there are out there to read. I love to read in my spare time and books are a massive part of our household. I feel really lucky that Daisy also loves losing herself in the amazing worlds the authors are creating for us and neither of us ever go very far without having a book to hand as you never know when an opportunity to read may present itself.
