Book Blurb

She’s found the perfect man. Will she get her perfect proposal?

Dog hotel marketing manager Alex has always dreamed of having a fairy-tale proposal: the glorious sunset, iconic backdrop and rose petals – the whole shebang. She’s found her Mr Right, and life with sexy paediatrician Miles is wonderful, except for one thing. Despite saying that he’s ready for marriage, Miles seems no closer to putting a ring on it.

After a romantic getaway to Paris ends in more disappointment and Alex receives news that sends her world into a spin, she decides that her dream proposal won’t just fall into her lap. So she hatches a plan.

Although she’s convinced her methods will lead to Miles popping the question faster than she can say ‘I do’, Alex’s friends warn her it will end in disaster. But a little bit of hint dropping can’t hurt, right?

Will Alex get her happily-ever-after, or is there a reason why Miles is dragging his feet?

Order this fun romantic comedy now and join Alex on her exciting adventures as she attempts to speed up the proposal process, with hilarious results!

When’s The Wedding? is the sequel to Only When It’s Love. It can also be read as a standalone novel.

Today is my stop on the blog tour for the wonderful sequel – What Now? by Shari Low

When I read What If? last year I was so excited to hear that What Now? was being released as I loved Carly and her crazy ideas and adventures. Today I am lucky enough to be on the blog tour and sharing my review for What Now?

My Review

Wow what a read! I adored the first book and was so excited we were getting to spend time with Carly and her wonderful friends again.

This story took us on a whole new adventure with Carly where we met characters from the previous book, lost close friends and gained a few new ones that she has met in the 20 year interlude in the timeline.

As soon as you start reading this emotionally charged story you realise that Carly has lost her spark and the very essence of what drove her to act before thinking about the consequences. A story filled with wonderful meaningful life long friendships, life altering loss and some big decisions. As I read I found I was quickly pulled back into her world and you start to remember the whirlwind that Carly used to be as you discover what has happened in her life and relationships over the past 20 years.

I am so sad to reach the end as I loved Carly as a character, she is vibrant and leaps off the pages and made me laugh throughout. A proper page turner that has left me feeling like I just rediscovered and then lost a great group of friends.

Book Blurb

The follow-up sequel to the bestselling ‘What If?’ from Shari Low

Twenty years ago, Carly Cooper went on an epic quest to track down all the men she’d ever loved and lost in the hope that one of them was her Mr Right.

Now, two decades and two teenage sons later, she thinks she might have got it all wrong.

As the years have passed, lots of things have changed, leaving Carly asking ‘What Now?’

With a divorce and an empty nest on the horizon, Carly sets off once more to Los Angeles with her band of trusty girlfriends, to find the carefree, wild and adventurous Carly Cooper that she used to be.

On this latest quest, Carly discovers a few home truths and has to decide If her marriage is worth saving or is there a new happy-ever-after out there, just waiting for her…

Today I am so excited to be joining the blog tour for the wonderful The Memory Keeper by Jenny Hale

Today I am delighted to be joining the blog tour for The Memory Keeper by Jenny Hale, I have previously read and love Jenny Hale’s books and am delighted to be reviewing this for the very first blog tour for Harpeth Road Press.

My Review

I have previously loved books by Jenny Hale and this one might just be my new favourite. A story rich in all things family and friends, that is overflowing with love and support and is representative of exactly what we all need in our lives right now.

Hannah is a character I could empathise with instantly, she was career focused and driven and reminded me of myself on her passion and love for progression in her role. Early on she receives a phone call to advise her Grandmother has been taken ill and she returns home, where she starts to remember her roots and rediscover what is really important.

I laughed and cried as I read, I felt as though I had befriended these amazing characters and immersed myself in the vivid descriptions that make you feel like your standing beside Hannah as you read.

I flew through this book in just a few days despite being desperate to savour it but I couldn’t resist the lure of the next diary entry and seeing what Hannah would decide to do with her Grandmothers business.

A story that leaves your heart full and your cheeks damp with tears, it pulls on your emotions and really makes brings all the thoughts and feelings to life making it a true 5* read that will stay with me for a long time.

Book Blurb

From the USA Today bestselling author of The Summer House comes a story about finding lost loves, chasing dreams, and the people who show up when they’re needed the most. The Memory Keeper is the perfect escape for fans of Susan Mallery, Debbie Macomber, and Sheila Roberts.

Hannah Townsend’s life is just as she’s always wanted it to be. She has the perfect job at a New York magazine, a small but elegant apartment in the upper west side, and an incredibly successful beau named Miles Monahan. This year, for her thirty-fifth birthday, she’s leaving the icy city sludge for sunshine! She’s got tickets for two to Barbados, and she’s all packed and meeting Miles at the airport for a week of cocktails, sandy beaches, and the music of steel drums.

But her life is turned upside down in the span of that one morning. Hannah is rocked by the news that her beloved grandmother is very sick, and Hannah needs to come home to her small Tennessee town right away to be with her family and help run her gran’s dilapidated flower shop. It also means she has to face Ethan Wright, the best friend she’d left behind so many years ago. If that isn’t enough to deal with, she discovers her boyfriend is seeing someone else.

With flights grounded and rental cars in great demand due to the winter snowstorm, she’s stranded at the airport. On her birthday, instead of waking up in a stylish beachfront hotel in Miles’s arms like she thought, she finds herself packed like sardines into a car, with two passengers, on a ride-share from LaGuardia Airport to her hometown of Franklin, Tennessee.

When everything seems to be going wrong, it’s the kindness of a handsome businessman from Hannah’s past named Liam McGuire that might just save her. But a new development that threatens Gran’s shop and secrets surrounding Liam could alter both their lives forever.

A heartwarming, sweet romance that will have you laughing, crying, and best of all, hugging those around you a little tighter. If you loved the Christmas movies based on Jenny’s books and are looking for more feel-good, small town romance, look no further!

Lets kick off this relaxing Sunday with a review for One Summer in Monte Carlo by Jennifer Bohnet

I love reading books by Jennifer Bohnet and jumped at the chance to read One Summer in Monte Carlo for the blog tour and to immerse myself in some wonderful escapism.

My Review

One Summer in Monte Carlo was a perfect read to transport me away, I love how Jennifer Bohnet uses such wonderful locations in the books and in this one you see us head off to Monte Carlo for F1 season.

The story was full of vivid descriptions right down to the noise and and thrills associated with F1 on this street made circuit. Through the descriptions of the hustle and bustle you really got a feel for the jubilant atmosphere and the parties held to celebrate this major event in the calendar.

Whilst in one half of this story we are with Nanette and the twins in Monte Carlo reliving her tragedy from 3 years previously. On the other side of the world Vanessa & Ralph are embarking on married life in the depths of the Amazon filming a documentary to try and help raise awareness to the shifts in how the small villages live and how the environment is impacting this.

I loved the two very different destinations and the totally different vibes you get when reading about them. I found I flew through this book, it was light hearted and provided some wonderful and much needed escapism.

Another wonderful story by Jennifer Bohnet, grab yourself a copy and enjoy the rest of your day curled up and enjoying the fast moving pace of Monte Carlo.

Book Blurb

Monte Carlo means different things to different people; a billionaires playground, overflowing with glitz and glamour but also where dangerous secrets hide.

For Nanette Weston, and her then fiancé, F1 racing driver Zac Ewart, their dream life came to an abrupt halt 3 years ago following a car accident which Zac walked away from, but left Nanette being airlifted back to the UK, never to return and never to see her fiancé again.

Monte Carlo was a place she wanted to forget, not revisit. But when her friend and employer, Vanessa asks Nanette to look after her children in the Principality for a few months, Nanette knew she had no choice but to return.

As the F1 circus once again comes to town, with Zac in pole position, mistakes of the past, leave legacies for the future…

I am very excited to share my review for The Lake House as I am loving the Love Heart Lane series and couldn’t wait to revisit these wonderful characters again and meet some new ones!

My Review

Sometimes you just need a light hearted read and as always Christie Barlow managed to whisk me away to the wonderful Heartcross. Ella has had a rough few months and the move to Heartcross with her best friend soon has Ella getting back on her feet.

I loved catching up with the wonderful residents of Heartcross, I think in the world we currently live in the fictional world Christie Barlow has created is exactly what we all need a dose of. I live in a village and just love the community spirit that oozes from the pages and the wonderful friendships she has created. I genuinely wish this was a real place as I would love to go and visit and stay at the Lake House after reading this.

Another wonderful read by Christie Barlow that I would highly recommend grabbing a copy of and snuggling down to read on these cold winter evenings.

Book Blurb

Pop over to my blog and check out my review for The Tobacco Lane Girls by Lizzie Lane

Today I am sharing my review for The Tobacco Lane Girls, I love historical fiction and was delighted to receive a copy of this to read and review. This is my first book by Lizzie Lane and I can’t wait to read more.

My Review

The 3 M’s were the leading ladies in this story as Britain is on the verge of World War II. Set against the backdrop of Bristol, I really enjoyed meeting these wonderful characters and reading this story.

The storyline depicted what life was like for these young girls and their families as war broke out and how obligation often overcame a woman’s dreams. We are lucky to live in a time where we have freedom of speech and movement and reading this story really helped reflect that despite a shocking 9 months for most that Britain has faced worse.

I look forward to reading more by Lizzie Lane as I loved this story and its wonderful and colourful characters.

Book Blurb

Bristol 1939.School leaver Maisie Miles suspects her father, a small-time crook, has an ulterior motive for insisting she gets a job at the W. D. & H. O. Wills tobacco factory but keeps it to herself.

She’s befriended by effervescent Phyllis Mason and kind-hearted Bridget Milligan who take pity on her and take Maisie under their wing.

But beneath their happy go lucky exteriors they all harbour dreams and worries about what the future holds.

Engaged to be married Phyllis dreams of romance and passion but when it comes there are dire consequences.

Bridget seemingly the level headed one harbours a horror of something unspeakable that she cannot easily come to terms with.

There’s great comradeship at the tobacco factory, and with the advent of war everything is about to change and even the closest friendships are likely to be strained.

Happy New Year! I am kicking off 2021 with a review for The Smugglers Wife by Evie Grace

After reading previous books in this historical fiction saga, I was really excited to be invited to join the blog tour and flew through it in just a couple of days.

My Review

I am really enjoying the Smugglers series by Evie Grace, set in a local town to me Deal in Kent.

In this story you see Louisa & Jason continuing to earn an honest living whilst Grace’s attention is once again caught by Black Dog who is struggling to stay on the right side of the law when it comes to smuggling.

A story that captured my attention, that has lots of changes of direction and once again captures how it would have been for the men and women during this time period. As the women build friendships to help them in these tough times, the men need to stay one step ahead of the law to keep them out of the Gaol.

I loved the exploration of Romney Marsh during this story. I live on the Romney Marsh and it was great to see it accurately described and see landmarks referred to during this story as well as the rolling mist that creates such poor visibility.

A story I loved beginning to end and that left me on tenderhooks so that I just had to keep reading to see what Grace and her families fate would be.

Book Blurb

Kent, 1815

Her heart led her to him, but will loyalty be enough to make her stay . . .

When the beautiful but naïve Grace Lennicker falls for Isaiah Feasey, son of a rival smuggling family and owner of a local tavern, her sisters try to intervene. But as tensions grow, there is another suitor also hoping to win her hand in marriage, the dashing and more favourable Albert Enderby, a young lieutenant in the Revenue.

Grace is unwittingly drawn back into the world of smuggling that her sisters fought hard to leave behind, and as violence erupts, she finds herself unable to stand by, knowing the rival gangs will kill anyone who stands in their way.

When her husband becomes involved, Grace is forced to make a difficult decision – turn him in and risk her life, or stay loyal and risk the lives of those she loves . . .
