I have previously read and loved books by Jules Wake and jumped at the chance to squeeze this one in as one of my last reviews of 2020 and what a book to wind up the year with!

My Review
What a corker of a read, I always love a book by Jules Wake and this was exactly the type of read I needed right now. Once I had picked up this book I quickly grew to love Jess and her pessimistic character when it comes to love. She is an independent woman who is content with her friends and spending time with her aunt and uncle until she bumps into Sam at a family BBQ.
A story to take you on a roller coaster of emotions that will make you laugh and cry as you read. Jess hasn’t had an easy childhood and as we get to know her better and learn more about her past traumas the more we get to understand her outlook on life and why she sometimes holds back from those around her.
The Spark is one of those books that you are desperate to keep reading, I found myself reading even when I knew I should be doing other jobs. I just had to find out how the initial spark between Jess & Sam works out and needed to know if it will be the disaster that Jess is expecting or will she get the happily ever after her Mum is so set against.
Book Blurb
Jess is falling for Sam.
Sam is falling for Jess.
But it seems life will do whatever it takes to make them fall apart.
When Jess and Sam lock eyes at a party, a spark ignites. The spark. But love at first sight isn’t like the movies, especially when Sam’s ex, Victoria, is determined to make their honeymoon period a living hell.
Is love at first sight enough?
